When Kristi agreed to go on a recruiting trip to Virginia Tech on behalf of her accounting firm, she thought it would be fun to have Stephen come with her and spend a long weekend in Blacksburg together! As soon as she suggested this, Stephen knew this was where he wanted to propose. What better place than where they first met? While Kristi was at her recruiting dinner, Stephen was meeting with a photographer to choose and arrange the best location for a proposal. The next day, Stephen told Kristi they were going to dinner with one of his former professors and would meet him at he Pylons, which overlook the drillfield. He also instructed her that because his former professor was usually dressed very nicely, that they should dress up for the occasion. Kristi and Stephen went to the Pylons to “wait for Stephen’s professor” and Kristi couldn’t help but notice when they got there that there was a young man taking photos of the scenery. She decided to actively avoid him (being difficult, per usual). Kristi proceeded to walk, sit, stand etc. in any location the camera was not (typical). After attempting to coax her into a specific spot, but to no avail, Stephen grabbed her hand and pulled her to the center of the Pylons, and began his proposal. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She excitedly said YES!!! It was then that she realized someone was snapping pictures left and right, and finally put the puzzle together. Stephen couldn’t have planned a better, sweeter, or more meaningful proposal, and Kristi couldn’t be happier to be engaged to the man of her dreams!
